I'd like to thank the moderators for choosing me to be this months oneB5. After a few hard months of not having a car and putting lots of hard work into my car, it is nice to see the car being appreciated and it means a lot to me. Thank you.
I originally had a Ford Focus. It was bright yellow and had black/yellow leather seats factory, so I modded it up. It had LamborghinI doors, dropped, wheels, motor work, etc. I was sick of the sound the exhaust made, it was getting too ricey for me. So I had wanted to trade it in for a few months, because I really wanted to get a Passat. Well I wound up totaling it in an ice storm. So, after I totaled it I thought id look into other cars instead of just the Passat. I looked at the Volvo S60R, Used B5 S4, and Audi TTs. Well let?s just say the Passat was in my price range, so I picked up the last Black 1.8T the dealer had.
No more than a day later I had already started to modify the car. I started with a badge-less grill. Then a week later, I put a set of HID's I had laying around, in my fog lights. And only 500 miles later, I had a drop, wheels and got chipped at Show N Go. After 2 years of owning the car, and debating trading it in or selling it, someone decided it would be fun to key nearly my whole car. So after thinking about it, I said to myself, "This is the perfect time to do something crazy to the car."
So I talked to my friend Misha who does his own bodywork and paint and he was down to help me out. So I saved up some money and we began the madness 2 months later. We started shaving the upper door handle pockets. Then we did the Boser hood extension. Then we started the air ride suspension, which took a bit longer than we thought. With lots of trial and error we finally had the car done a month before Waterfest. But the car wasn?t perfect and my friend had to get his car done in a month for Waterfest which included a 24V VR6 swap into his 2.0 MkIV GTI (which is Flat Blue and on air ride.) So after he got his car done, it was a week until Waterfest. I found a sweet deal from my friend Frank on these Chrome 3 piece 18" staggered Carlsson wheels, so I picked them up from him. And we decided to respray the whole car again. Well now everything was perfect and I had only a few things to do before Waterfest which I didn't get done, but it no longer mattered to me because the hardest parts were finally done.
I need to send a BIG THANK YOU to my buddy Misha for the bodywork/paint and suspension. He did basically everything but I had a hand in everything he did and I definitely learned a lot from watching him. I'd also just like to point out that everything done to my car, and I mean everything, was done in my garage with my and my friend's own tools. It has never once been to a shop. And I'd also like to thank all my friends who helped out with the car over the years and my car club. Schmutzig VAG!!!! And don't worry, the modifications are going to keep on coming. I had some big plans over the winter. Mods
